Lisa Ordóñez was appointed dean of the University of California San Diego Rady School of Management in 2019. As successor to its founding dean, she is taking Rady from startup to growth. She has helped secure nearly 15 million USD in funding for Rady centers of excellence, further cementing Rady’s global business research prominence as an innovation-focused, economic engine.
Under Ordóñez’s guidance, Rady emerged from the pandemic with the highest enrollments in school history. She completed a five-year strategic plan, has grown Rady’s world-renowned faculty, and expanded the diversity of representation across all academic areas.
Ordóñez is a recognized expert in ethical behavior in organizations and has published several articles and chapters in the fields of decision-making and behavioral ethics. Her work has been cited in numerous media outlets. In 2022 she was named Business Woman of the Year by San Diego Business Journal.
Ordóñez previously served for 25 years at the University of Arizona. She holds a PhD in quantitative psychology and a master's in marketing from University of California Berkeley.
